Below, we’ll explore how to craft prompts for two common challenges. Try using these prompts to operationalize AI technology and drive meaningful outcomes.

Prompt 1: Generate Drafts and Iterate

Challenge:

Creating technical content for a business that demonstrates how to complete tasks can be time-consuming, exhausting, and without careful review, inaccurate. Draft the first draft of a knowledge article.

Prompt to Gen AI:

"Write a first-draft knowledge base article for our product’s support center. The goal is to help users troubleshoot [specific product issue, e.g., ‘Wi-Fi connectivity issues with our smart thermostat’]. Structure the article with the following sections:

1. Problem Description: Briefly explain the issue in a user-friendly manner.
2. Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide: Provide a list of clear, numbered steps that users should follow to resolve the issue. Keep explanations concise but informative.
3. Expected Outcomes: Describe what should happen when each troubleshooting step is completed successfully.

Prompt 2: Make Decisions Using Existing Data

Challenge:

Reviewing data you've gathered for insights and calculating key performance indicators takes a keen eye. Calculation errors and missed opportunities can occur with human manipulation. Ask a generative AI tool to perform an action on uploaded data.

Prompt to Gen AI:

"I have uploaded a dataset containing internal reports, customer feedback surveys, and sales data to [NotebookLM or custom GPT]. Analyze this data and provide the following:

1. Top Three Trends: Identify the three most significant trends impacting customer satisfaction scores. Summarize each trend in 2-3 sentences.
2. Actionable Recommendations: For each trend, generate two data-backed recommendations that we can implement immediately. The recommendations should be:*
   • Specific and practical (e.g., 'Reduce response time by implementing a chatbot' rather than 'Improve customer service').
